Santa Ynez Rodeo

Went over to Santa Ynez district # 7 high school rodeo to watch our own #1 Vaquera , Sarah Nance do all her events, she was #3 overall last year in the state and did really well yesterday.

Unreal day, the storm blew threw and got NICE!

Sweet spot for this event , that's Sunstone Winery to the right, had to go over for a quick taste .

Sarah, quick out of the gate and roped this one fast, took a second in this roping event.

Myself , checking the goat roping event and how to get to Sunstone for a quick sip of the vine

Andreini/ Vaquero Quiver

A guys quiver of Marc Andreini's Vaqueros.

This guy has me having quiver envy .

I think that first blue one a 12' is the last of the Clark Foam 12' blanks. Marc cut and glued up that redwood stringer and rocker, nice set of boards.

BOJORQUEZ/CHENG ART SHOW

This is a really cool show, Steve and Bob are an inspiration and their art is similar but different.

CSUN has a nice space for this show.

The surf shack piece that Steve did for Laguna Art Museum is there also.

Big thanks to Jim Sweeter from CSUN who made this happen.

Check it out ! if you can. Good to see all the old Hull Tribe come out last night . When I go back over I will post pics of Bob Kai Cheng's work which I dug the hell out of.

NEW BOAT LAUNCH

My buddy Jeff Chamberlain's new toy 17ft Radon , maiden voyage yesterday.

Jeff found this old hull way up north and took it to Anderson Boats in Santa Barbara and they built his Dream Machine. I gotta say when he towed this old hull from out of the woods it was UGLY!!! I wasn't seeing it at all just a bare hull striped to the bone.

6mo. later here it is, Slobber Chops lives again . That other boat is our friend Kenny's 21ft Greenough also built by Bill and Ed Anderson.

The shake down run went perfect, congrats to Jeff and Paige .

Liddle's Old Board

A buddy brought this by , Greg's old 7'3'' from around the late 70's or early 80's. The back third of the tail template is asymmetrical , strait on the forehand , curvy on the backhand.

Lots of hull and thinned out foil to the Max

Single 4oz. top and bottom with deck patch and balsa stringer the board really flexes .

Deck. Maybe make a few new ones like this.

Bottom, nice to see this one survived most of Greg's boards were broken, buckled and rode to Death.
