For a Few Dollars More.

$#!T , If I knew Liddle was gonna be on the Mend all summer, I would NOT! have lent El Indio my 7' 2'' Death board.

Gringo!! if you try and take your board back before the tide push, were gonna have a problem!

Maybe if El Indio go's to get a Taco at Jack's I can grab his board for a few before he knows what's up.

Scum Bag snakes from Malibu try to take my board and my WAVES. serve's um right.

Hey kirk, i have been a student of manuelito caro for about 6 months. Mani and i just geek out on gregs boards, and i, a fifteen year old pig-rider, have developed an obsession of hulls. I just had surgery myself in may (cant surf the whole summer) and i am planning on shaping my second SK based hull. I was wondering if you could give me some dims on Steves JAWS boards. I understand the intensity and extreme-ness of the jaws board and i am no kook to the history and dynamics of displacement hulls. thank you

it all started with "a buckboard full of stubbies" followed by "for a few liddles more" culminating in "the good, bad and stubby"

if you already made one, why do you need info for a second? ride the one you made and figure out what YOU want from the board, not what some guy was doing 30 years ago. you may end up at the same place dirt did or you made yourself creating a new dimension in hulls. don't copy-create!

slight error in previous message. meant to say you may find yourself creating a new dimension in hulls.

i dont want to "copy create" the JAWS board- i simply wanted to make my own, blade like 6'4". i just wanted to get some dims to inspire me to make my own line of hulls by contacting the masters themselves. The hulls that mani makes are really stellar but i want to create my own unique quiver... Thanks for the inspirational words of advice...

  6. SK's , Jaws boards were all 6'10'' to 7'2'' so the dims don't really fit, the curves would just be another type of board altogether, that said try n. 18.75 w. 22'' t. 15''

i think i waill go with 18.5 x 21.75 x 14.75 x 2.5 x 6'4". Thanks. Oh and question: i like burning a bottom turn as hard as i can so should i completely blade the rails out? Paul Gross told me something about vee ahead of the tail. any thoughts?

  15. A slight vee in front of the finbox helps the board go rail to rail better , I wouldn't make a full blade rail just thin but not to sharp.

so 2.5 is a good thickness?

well if you are indeed a 15 year old grom and of normal size-yes-especially if you want to keep in the theme of SK's jaws. don't pinch the rail, just keep it thin and round.you can put the hull or a mellow round v in front of the fin box and keep the hull under the nose real minimal to almost flat. i see you picked my dimensions as the ones to go with good choice!

and the rail line should follow the s deck pattern? I surf swamis and churches so a moderate roll should be sufficient?
